The classic among the anatomically moulded footbeds consists of renewable, high quality cork and natural rubber. Both raw materials are won with the help of extremely gentle procedures and with the help of sustaining harvesting methods. Together they make up the cork-latex centre which lends the footbed its unparalleled shape and special wearing characteristics.
Besides the cork-latex centre, other layers, which support the individual functional elements of the footbed, complete it. Viewed from the top down the footbed is constructed of a first supple and densely woven jute layer to absorb moisture. Then there is the flexible, cushioning cork-latex centre, after that comes a second and coarser jute layer to stabilise the footbed and, last but not least, the cushioning walking sole on the bottom of the shoe made of EVA or Alpro-Cell.
When taking a look at the main components of the cork-latex soft footbed it is almost identically constructed as the classic cork-latex footbed. It is, however, complemented by an important element: directly underneath the suede liner is a perma-elastic latex pad. It cushions every step even more than the regular footbed. Millions of tiny bubbles are responsible for this effect. They let the pad rebound into its original soft shape time and again.
The specialty of this soft footbed is the material used: Alpro-Foam is made up of millions of little bubbles which guarantee a pleasant feeling with every step. Right from the start.
Just like all other footbeds available from besser gehen the Alpro-Foam soft footbed is also anatomically moulded, i.e. it is the mirror image of a natural footprint. An elastic latex cushion in the heel area provides for additional longlasting wearing comfort. The suede leather liner is inseparably fused to the footbed thus creating comfort you can truly feel. That’s why the soft footbed becomes the ideal companion for the daily grind at work or during spare time activities.
Footbeds for children must especially withstand quite the fun and games. That’s why the centres of the cork-footbeds for kids are made of a cork-Alpro-Cell or cork-EVA mixture rendering them even more durable than their counterparts for adults. Other than that the structure of the footbed is identical.
Footbeds made of Alpro-Cell or EVA are mostly used for bath and spare time applications. These high-tech materials can be turned into nearly any shape. Therefore, it is obvious that they are used in the production of anatomically moulded footbeds. These footbeds convince not only by their light weight but also by their flexibility. Alpro-Cell and EVA clogs and sandals are one-piece footwear that is washable at up to 30°C.
Besides the soft footbed made of Alpro-Foam, our bath and leisure time sandals also feature an anatomically moulded footbed made of the flexible and durable materials Alpro-Foam or PU. Similar to EVA PU can also be injection moulded to create virtually any shape. Adjustable, washable and very longlasting – just perfect for a wide range of lively spare time recreational activities.
Alpro-Foam also allows the production of shoes with special properties for application in a variety of jobs – they come, for example, equipped with antistatic elements, integrated steel toe caps, non-slip treads, and they are oil or grease resistant and withstand disinfection.
